Whether through industry, academia, or an international or non-governmental organization, the JCBRN Defence COE continues to seek out new partners that have common interests. These are entities who can help us with one of our core responsibilities, working with the Alliance in the prevention, protection, and recovery from CBRN incidents. It is within this desire that our Centre hosted Soldiers from the U.S. Army’s CBRN Requirements Branch.

During this visit, which took place from 17 to 18 January 2024, the Centre and the CBRN Requirements Branch exchanged ideas on the evolution of CBRN defence capabilities, technologies, and doctrine in the year 2030 and beyond. From remote CBRN sensing capabilities to automated decontamination, the members of each organization had productive conversations on the future of CBRN defence. In the CBRN Requirements Branch, we have found another partner to help us fulfil our aim of being at the forefront of helping NATO meet its transformation objectives.

The visit ended with a tour of Kamenná Chaloupka, the nearby facility in which the JCBRN Defence COE conducts its annual live agent training. This was an appropriate venue to end this visit, allowing us to not only highlight our partnership with Vojenský Výzkumný Ústav - the Czech Republic Military Research Institute - but also the available resources that enable us to provide unique CBRN defence education and training opportunities.

The JCBRN Defence COE would like to thank the U.S. Army CBRN Requirements Branch and looks forward to an enduring partnership.
