The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD CoE) organized and hosted the “COE Interface meeting 2009” from 13th to 14th January 2009, in Trenčín, Slovakia.

Taking part at the meeting were: the Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence - JCBRN D COE (CZE), the Military Medicine - MILMED COE (HUN),the Mountain Warfare- MW COE (SVN), Col. William Brackin, Deputy Head of TNCC/ HQ SACT (Norfolk) and representatives of French Armed Forces convened later for negotiations.

The meeting aimed to provide information exchange of experience from the establishment and further development of each COE during interactive interface discussions. The interface discussions focused on three main areas :1. legal aspects , 2. financial and logistic aspects , 3. potentional issues of accreditation.

Col. William Brackin, Deputy Head of TNCC/ HQ SACT, expressed cordial thanks to the delegation from JCBRN COE, Czech Republic, who brought many suggestions how to continue work on the development and signing the MOU documents as well as issues concerning the accreditation process for non – accredited COEs. All participants declared an interest in conducting the meeting with a similar focus again at the end of the year.
