On 13 – 14 October 2015 the 19th JCBRN Defence COE Steering Committee (SC) Meeting took place in Vyškov with participation of the Sponsoring Nations’ representatives from Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and the United States of America. Representatives of ACT, SHAPE, the WMD Centre and the International Military Staff (IMS) as well as representatives from Austria were present in an observer role.

The JCBRN Defence COE has organized Physical Protection Panel (PPP) meeting from 12th to 16th October 2015. The PPP is a subgroup of the Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological And Nuclear (CBRN) Defence Capability Development Group (JCDG).

The Combined Interoperability CBRN Defence in Air Operations Exercise »Toxic Trip 15« (TT15) was held in Italy, again in Villafranca di Verona Air Force Base from 19 to 25 September 2015.

2015 iteration of CBRN Units Evaluators Course was conducted during the period 7 – 11 September.

The aim of the course was to prepare officers to achieve common standards in CBRN certification for evaluation of CBRN Defence units assigned to NATO Response Force Combined Joint Chemical Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Task Force (NRF CJ CBRND TF). Although the CJ CBRND TF consists of CBRN Battalion (CBRN Bn) and CBRN Joint Assessment Team (CBRN JAT) the focus of the course were CBRN units (Recon, Decon, Bio, Lab). In addition, the aim of the course was to learn how to evaluate the CBRN units.

On Tuesday 22 September at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, representatives from the Joint CBRN Centre of Excellence participated in one day conference about Weapons of Mass Destruction and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear threats.

On 1st September 2015, Brigadier General Dr. Stefan KOWITZ, the director of the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED) accompanied by the Branch Chiefs of Training and Lessons Learned CAPT (N) Kimberly A. FERLAND visited the JCBRN Defence Centre od Excellence in Vyškov.

A Technical Arrangement in Action
Throughout the summer, the Joint CBRN Defence Centre of Excellence (COE) and Defence Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA, USA) have continued to work closely together. Specifically, in accordance with the provisions of the Technical Arrangement signed by the COE and the US DoD in 2014, SMEs from DTRA delivered a specialist Modelling&Simulation (M&S) software training package during the last week of July.

On the 16th of July 2015, the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT), General Jean-Paul Paloméros, visited the Joint Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Defence Centre of Excellence (JCBRN Defence COE) in Vyškov.
