How to become a CBRN LLP user

NATO promotes the sharing of all LL related information with all bodies from the NCS, NFS, nations, partners, academic and research organizations, IOs and NGOs.

User accounts are managed by the JCBRND COE.

However, while granting access to the users, the managers will respect NATO policies on information security as follows:

* Users from NATO structures – for the NS CBRN LLP , users from AIS domain will be automatically signed in; for those outside AIS domain access will be granted based on official email address. For the NU CBRN LLP , access will be granted based on official email address. Time limitations can be set up depending on the position held.

* Users from NATO nations (for NU CBRN LLP ) –requesters will be granted access based on their official email address.

* Users from operations - NATO nations and TCN (for NU CBRN LLP ) – Users will be granted access based on their official/mission email address.

* Users from partner countries (for NU CBRN LLP ) – requesters will be granted access based on security clearance, official email address and “need to know” basis. Access will be granted as required but for a period of 2 years at most.

* Users from IOs – EU, UN, OSCE, AU etc. (for NU CBRN LLP ) - Institutional POCs will be granted access based on security clearance and official email address. This POCs will request access for others based on security clearance, official email and “need to know”. Access will be granted by JCBRND COE COS decision, for a period of 1 year at most, and the POC will be their sponsor during the period.

* Users from academic and research bodies, NGOs – Universities, Red Cross, Red Crescent etc. (for NU CBRN LLP ) – Institutional POCs will be granted access based on an official letter sent to JCBRND COE/NATO HQ/Bi-SC, security clearance, official email address, “need to know” and JCBRND COE COS decision. For other requests, access will be granted on a case by case basis, for a period of 6 months at most, and the POC will be the sponsor during the period.

* Users involved in different projects/exercises – if not NATO nations, access will be granted for the project/exercise period, sponsored by a Project Manager / DIREX based on security clearance.

As the owner of the CBRN Defence Community of Interest, the JCBRN Defence COE facilitates the information and lessons sharing in the CBRN area across NATO to:

  • Avoid repeating the mistakes or/and help others avoid the same mistakes,
  • Share best practices throughout an organisation or/and other organisations,
  • Improve the way in which future activities will be planned, prepared and conducted.

The main tool for the COE support to CBRN LL activities is CBRN Defence Community of Interest (CBRN COI) located on NATO Lessons Learned Portal (NLLP). The easiest way to become a member of the CBRN COI is to forward the notification about created NLLP account to:
