Reachback

CBRN Reachback is defined as a process by which commanders, their staffs and deployed forces may be provided with timely coordinated and authoritative advice on chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear issues, drawing on remote expert sources of information.

The NATO CBRN Reachback cell in Vyskov is staffed by 8 personnel who act as the focal point for technical CBRN queries for NATO (IMS, SHAPE and ACT). Utilising a diverse mulit-national network of specialist, the personnel coalesce robust, detailed and technical analysis for planners and decision makers. Additionally, the team provides training support to major NATO exercises and can be called upon to provide technical advice and support to sponsoring nations.
