This year’s goal was to discuss latest threats and efficient ways of detecting threats before an attack occurs. Presenters participating on this event were the industry leaders from the public and private sector as well as senior national government officials, EU, UN, WHO and NATO representatives.
The JCBRN Defence Centre of Excellence has supported this international event by providing assistance in shaping the agenda in order to make sure, that the attendees gather information about all key-topics within the CBRN Domain from the leading CBRNe-experts in the region.
The Director COL Jiri GAJDOS and the Deputy Director COL Rainer SCHULTE of the JCBRN Defence COE actively spoke at the Summit about the Joint CBRN Defence COE’s role on how to better and more effectively combat CBRNe-threats and according to this the role of the Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) as a service provider.

On the third day the present project officer “CBRN Knowledge Base” of the JCBRN Defence COE Staff Captain Trees conducted an all-day workshop under the direction of the COE Deputy Director. The workshop demonstrated values and usability of semantic web tools within today’s IKM-projects. Using the example "CBRN-related IED’s" the methodology “Expert question” was introduced and first steps to create a new or respectively maintain an already existing domain-specific ontology “CBRN” were done together with the participants.
