15th Doctrine and Terminology Panel (DTP) meeting took place in Panama City in the USA from 18th to 21st October 2010.       25 delegates from 12 NATO nations (BEL, CAN, DEU, DNK, ESP, FRA, GBR, ITA, NLD, NOR, TUR and USA), JCBRN Defence COE as well as one PfP nation (SWE) attended the meeting with the aim to progress the development of essential CBRN doctrinal publications.

One of the most important CBRN doctrines, AJP-3.8 reached the status of Study Draft 4 and it may become the Ratification Draft 1 if the nations agree by the end of January 2011. Preliminary Study Draft 1 of the ATP-3.8.1 Vol. II was reviewed and it will be discussed also during the next meeting with the aim to produce Study Draft 1. ATP-3.8.1 Vol. III is still in the ratification process; nations are encouraged to proceed with the ratification of the publication until 27th Nov 2010.

During the meeting the DTP Chairman LTC Manfred HAGEN resigned from his function because he left his post at the JCBRN Defence COE. LTC Manfred GLÖCKNER was proposed as a candidate to take over Chairmanship and Nations Heads of Delegation unanimously approved him as the new DTP Chairman.

DTP terminology syndicate continued to review comments to AAP-21 received from Office of NATO Terminology Coordination (ONTC). When completed at the next DTP meeting the final version of AAP-21(C) will be submitted back to the ONTC for promulgation.

The 15th DTP meeting held in Panama City was characterised by the outstanding preparation of work by the Custodians. This served as a basis for successful results achieved by all syndicates.

The next DTP meeting will be organized from 16th to 19th May 2011 in Rieti, Italy.
