It was the Joint CBRN Defence COE’s honour to host the CBRN Analysis Users Workshop from 3 to 4 March 2020 in cooperation with the Bruhn NewTech Company from Denmark. The former CBRN Analysis Super Users - Refresher course was replaced by a workshop to allow broader participation from and increased collaboration of the NATO HQs.

The workshop's ambition was focused on ATP-45 (F) key changes and their effect on warning and reporting; the CBRN Analysis new features (version 20); CBRN Warning and Reporting users’ experience and requirements; and Lessons Identified (LIs) and best practices. The aim was to share information and ensure a clear understanding of the new changes in the area of CBRN Warning and Reporting. New features of CBRN Analysis version 20 were presented by the Bruhn NewTech consultant Mr. Erik Nielsen and Mr. Henning Christensen van Brussel. CBRN Analysis version 20 is updated to be compliant with ATP-45 (F), AEP-45 (E) and the corresponding APP-11, ADatP-3 and ATP-3.8.1. The new license policy and next generation of CBRN Analysis – a WEB based programme was shared and explained.

The eight international workshop participants from NATO and NATO PfP Nation (Belgium, Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Sweden) demonstrated their expert and advanced skills and knowledge as they completed the computer-assisted exercise module and got acquainted with the new automated procedures. The workshop also created an environment to share National and NATO experience from various levels of command and control in accordance with the new ATP-45 (F).

The workshop was a great opportunity to reinforce the participants’ abilities to implement the newest knowledge concerning CBRN Warning &r; Reporting into the upcoming NATO training activities such as the exercise BRAVE BEDUIN 2020.

The Joint CBRN Defence COE intends to continue with its educational and training activities in the area of CBRN Warning and Reporting; and the second event is planned for September 2020 when the CBRN Warning and Reporting Specialists Pilot course will be conducted.
